• Vietnam Overview
Vietnam has a population of approximately 88.78 million, with its capital in Hanoi, which has a population of around 6.9 million. Hanoi is currently the political center and a key hub for economic investment. As the seat of the central government, Hanoi has relatively ample funding and more advanced infrastructure, though it still lags behind neighboring countries in terms of urban infrastructure. It is also a center for foreign businesses and expatriates, with a higher degree of internationalization and stronger consumer purchasing power. Many luxury apartments and shopping malls are being constructed in downtown Hanoi, with over 200 buildings currently under construction and expected to be completed in the next 2–3 years, signaling a bright future.
• Government Support for Printing Industry
The government is encouraging the adoption of offset printing technology in Hanoi (with 131 printing companies) and Ho Chi Minh City (with 141 printing companies), the two key centers of Vietnam’s printing industry, to foster rapid growth in the national printing sector.
• Packaging Machinery Market Opportunities in Vietnam
Vietnam’s packaging enterprises have the capacity to produce KRAFT paper rolls, three- to five-layer paper barrels, various nylon packaging materials (PE, PP, HDPE), agricultural PE films, plastic strapping ropes, composite plastic packaging materials, and various sizes of canned fruit and vegetables, juice cans, seafood cans, milk powder cans, coffee cans, and other food cans. Major packaging companies include New Progress Plastic Packaging Company in Ho Chi Minh City, Western Packaging Co., Ltd. in Can Tho City, and Meizhu Packaging and Printing Joint Stock Company in Ho Chi Minh City.

Vietnam’s packaging companies can now serve a wide range of domestic needs, such as for grain, food, beauty and cosmetics, agrochemical raw materials, seafood, textiles, pharmaceuticals, beverages, laundry detergents, bath liquids, and more. Not only do Vietnamese enterprises use their packaging materials, but many foreign companies operating in Vietnam also rely on them. This highlights the steady development of Vietnam’s packaging machinery industry.
